True stories can change minds.
We believe the best way to fight the polarizing topic of reproductive rights in our country is to humanize reproductive freedom. Senator Dick Durbin recently said he was opposed to abortion until he spoke with two 10 year old girls, one a victim of incest, the other of rape. Hearing their stories changed his mind and he now supports abortion rights.

The Dear Amy Project was founded by Meika Rouda, an adoptee and adoptive mom who also had an abortion in college. When the draft opinion overturning Roe vs. Wade was leaked, she wrote a letter to Justice Amy Coney Barrett sharing her abortion story and why adoption can’t be the only option for women with an unintended or unviable pregnancy. When she told others about her letter to Amy, she found they wanted to share their stories too and Dear Amy, was created.

Justice Barrett was the only female on the U.S. Supreme Court to sign the opinion overturning Roe vs. Wade. For us, she represents all of the “Amys” who don’t believe in reproductive freedom as a constitutional right.
-
We will send EVERY STORY THAT IS SUBMITTED via email or snail mail to Amy Coney Barrett to remind her of the importance of reproductive rights.
-
After being sent to Amy and posted to our platform, your story will live in the Dear Amy, archive to inspire future generations to fight for women’s rights.
-
Two of Justice Barrett’s children are adopted from Haiti. She has proposed that adoption can replace the need for abortion. While we feel adoption is a good choice for some women, Justice Barrett seems woefully uninformed on the complex nature of adoption. It is not a simple solution to abortion as Justice Barrett suggests and should never be considered a replacement for abortion.
